JGSG reassures on water supply

JIGAWA state commissioner in the ministry for Water resources, Alhaji Salisu Mamuda has restated the resolve of Governor Sule Lamido's administration to ensure an uninterrupted portable drinking water supply to various communities in the state.
The commissioner made the statement during an inspection visit of improved water supply projects executed by ChinaZhonghoa Nigeria Limited at Birnin Kudu, as contained in a press release issued and signed by the public relations officer of the commissioner and a copy made a available to Daily Triumph.
Alhaji Mamuda added that provision of water supply was one of the priorities of Lamido's administration.
The release explained that at Birnin Kudu, the commissioner inspected a completed 150 cubic meter water tank, seven newly drilled boreholes and six rehabilitated existing one at Zarainawa water works in the town.
Also at Zango, the commissioner has inspected seven newly-drilled boreholes and a new 100 KVA generating set overhauled generating set and reticulation.
Alhaji Mamuda then expressed his satisfaction on the projects and then commended the company for a job well-done.
The release recalled that, last year, the state government approved the sum of N250 million for the improvement of water supply in six major towns of the state namely, Hadejia, Dutse, Birnin Kudu, Kazaure, and Ringim.
The commissioner was accompanied during the inspection by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu and chairman, board of directors of the Jigawa state water board Alhaji Zaubairu Kanya, among others.
