... JNI says killings unacceptable

Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) Katsina state branch has declared that it will not accept any explanation from the federal government on recent Jos crisis unless those behind the crisis are brought to book.
At the end of its regular monthly meeting held last weekend in Katsina, and attended by Islamic scholars, the Organization condemned in totality the crisis that consumed hundreds of innocent Nigerians.
The chairman of JNI in the state Sheikh Isah Dodo said JNI is waiting to see how the federal government will handle the Jos crisis.
“We condemn recent Jos crisis and we will not accept any explanation from the federal government on the crisis unless those behind it are punished”, he said.
“We met and discussed the crisis on behalf of the entire Muslims of Katsina. We are behind those calling for the federal government to punish those behind the crisis,” he emphasized.
Dodo who is former Grand Khadi of Katsina state, however commended traditional rulers from the North for condemning the crisis.
Meanwhile, Dodo has called on Katsina State House of Assembly to come up with a law that will prohibit all indigenes of Jos from staying in the state.
He also appealed to Muslims in the state to live in peace and harmony with other follow Christians.
