KNSG poised to make healthcare effective, affordable
KANO state government will continue to make healthcare delivery services in the state affordable, accessible, effective and efficient in order to meet the state government’s goal of human development.
This was disclosed by the state commissioner of health. Malama Aisha Isyaku Kiru when she inspected the screening of patients suffering from eye problem for them to be operated upon free or given drugs if operations are not required.
The commissioner said eyes are very important part of the body hence the government is concerned to give free eye cataract operation, medication as well as provision of medical glasses.
She said 2,000 patents will benefit from the operation’s package while others will get drugs and eye glasses after diagnose.
Malama Kiru expressed happiness with the way the screening is going on and appealed to the people to obey doctors’ instructions for the exercise to record huge success.
In their response, representatives of the beneficiaries, Malam Usman Isa and Malama Zainab Muhammad thanked Malam Ibrahim Shekarau’s led administration for coming to their aid because they have been suffering from the illness for long but could not afford the cost.
They called on citizens of Kano to take good care of their eyes and visit eye specialists whenever they have eye problem.
