KNSG assures deserving attention to mosques’ renovation
DESPITE dwindling revenue accruing to the three tiers of government due to the global economic meltdown, the Kano state government has vowed to accord mosques deserving attention.
The state commissioner of projects monitoring and evaluation, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba made this known while handing a cash donation of N700,000 to the Majalisin Hakori, Kurna Mosque committee.
Alhaji Garba stated that the state government donated the money with a view to buying a plot of land for the expansion of the mosque.
He noted that worshipers at the mosque observe their prayers in the open due to the inadequate space in the mosque’s premises.
The commissioner called on the mosque committee to intensify efforts toward sourcing more contributions from Muslims for the realization of the set goal.
Alhaji Garba said that this call is necessary as the state government’s donation could not settle the cost of the land needed for the expansion project.
After receiving the donation, Malam Usman Aliyu Abubakar assured that the donation would be judiciously used.
Malam Abubakar commended the state government for the donation which would go a long way in realizing the noble objective.
He pointed out that the land was valued at N1.5 million which had already been paid for, adding that the state government’s donation would be used in the construction of the Islamiyya School and the expansion mosque project.
