KWSG recruits 700 health workers, doctors inclusive

KWARA state government is to recruit about 700 health workers ranging from doctors to attendants in order to strengthen health sector in the state.
The deputy governor, Chief Joel Ogundeji disclosed this on Tuesday while commissioning seven Ambulance vehicles purchased at the cost of N106.5 million.
According to him, these amongst others, are the giant steps that government had taken recently to improve the health sector, noting that the ambulance vehicles are modern state-of-art edifice that are fully fortified with First-Aid equipment and instrument.
The deputy governor mentioned that each of the six ambulance vehicles costs N17 million making a total of N102 million, while that of General Hospital Afon cost N4.5 million.
He stressed that the state government along with local governments recently embarked on the construction of 51 doctor’s quarters across the state in order to encourage doctors to live in the various rural communities.
He assured that Dr. Bukola Saraki’s administration will continue to commit resources judiciously into health sector and government expects the best use of these resources from the management and staff.
He added that Dr. Saraki remains focused on the policy thrust of providing effective and efficient healthcare delivery service to the good people of the state.
Earlier, the commissioner of health, Alhaji Ladi Hassan in his welcome addres, thanked the governor for his approval to employ health workers of all cadres to strengthen staffing in all hospitals in the state.
He noted that government has increased the allocation on the Revolving Drug Scheme from the now paltry sum of N5.million to N30 million, so as to ensure that potent and essential drugs are readily available in hospitals.
