Lasting peace, tranquility sought in North

Agbor Political Forum in the Niger- Delta Region has urged Arewa Consultative Forum and other similar bodies to explore meaningful ideas to achieve a lasting peace and tranquility in the troubled region.
The Spokesman of the Agbor Political Forum, Chief Felix Sunday Duke Iyawa disclosed this when his Forum paid a courtesy visit to the officials of the (ACF) on Tuesday at the Secretariat of the Forum
Chief Felix said that his Forum has noted with keen interest, the efforts of the federal government to find a lasting solution to the crisis in the Niger- Delta region, adding that his Forum will support any move towards building a new Nigeria that will be of immense benefit to the Nigerians and the globe.
He explained that Agbor Political Forum is young but dynamic in its approach to political and economic matters affecting Agbor kingdom, pointing out his Forum is to promote, protect and depend the interest of Agbor ethnic nationality with clear objectives of advancing their socio- economic, political and cultural development.
He further said that his Forum was here to felicitate with ACF and there mission to interact with leaders of the Forum one-on-one and consolidate their relationship most adequately for the promotion of socio- economic, political and cultural development through mutual understanding and co-operation, adding that’ The eyes of a bear lies in its head’’.
According to him ``ACF is the foremost and formidable political forum in Nigeria today and the relevance of ACF in the polity of Nigeria can not be over- emphasized, therefore Agbor political Forum is to create a political friendship in lines with our forefathers to harness and sustain beneficial political interest for your people and our people’’.
In his response, the Chairman of the ACF, General BM Haruna (rtd) hailed the leaders of Agbor Political Forum for the visit to the ACF saying that this will go along way in foster relationship as well as to formulate a formidable struggle.
He stated that both ACF and Agbor Forum are formed with the same purpose of championing the course of its people, adding that any move that will bring unity and social co-existence among the people
will go by it.
According to him: ``We are one, we are brotherhood and we must unite to depend the interest of our people and depend the interest of our country that is Nigeria’’.
