LG spends N400m on infrastructure
Tsafe local government council of Zamfara state executed projects worth N400 million between March and September.
The chairman, Alhaji Musa Yusuf, said this today in Tsafe when the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Tukur Umar, visited the local government.
Yusuf said that the projects, which include the construction of 20 blocks of classrooms in primary schools to reduce congestion in classrooms for effective teaching and learning.
He said the council also constructed boreholes in 20 villages, six primary health care centers and 20 housing units for the local government's senior staff and state and federal establishments staff posted to the area.
According to him, the council also constructed a veterinary clinic in Tsafe and a modern abattoir.
Yusuf added that the council has also constructed a 14-kilometre road; linked two communities to the national grid and constructed drainages for the control of erosion in the area.
He said the projects were part of the council's efforts towards providing more dividend of democracy to people of the area.
The council boss noted that the projects would enhance economic activities, reduce unemployment and improve the social welfare of the people.
He said that the council had a lot of plans and programmes aimed at moving the area forward.
