Police arraign teenager for stealing motorcycle
A 17-year old boy, Taofeek Ahmad, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ikeja magistrates’ court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
He was arraigned on one-count charge before Magistrate J.A. Ababor.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Fola Takumbe, told the court that the accused stole a Jincheng brand of motorcycle with registration number QL-508-KTU valued at N31,000.
He said the motorcycle belonged to one Mr Wasiu Akanni of No. 26B Obale St., Badia in Ijora.
The prosecutor said the accused committed the offence on December 26.
Takumbe said the offence contravened section 390 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State and was punishable with three years’ imprisonment.
Anabor granted Ahmed bail in the sum of N50,000 and a surety, and adjourned the case till Jan. 14, 2010.
