Political rivalry tears Bungudu LG apart
From BALA ABUBAKAR, Gusau
Political rivalry has torn Bungudu local government council in Zamfara state into shreds, as former special assistant to the council engage the chairman, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi (Manager) in a battle.
The battle which has been lingering on in the council has forced many P.D.P members to abandon their party and joined ANPP.
Daily Triumph gathered that the council boss is at the centre as the crisis which is fast casting away the soul of party structure in the council area.
Some PDP members according to reliable source, have decamped to ANPP on premise that their interest were being jeopardized by the council’s chairman, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi Manager.
One of the decampees, Alhaji Lawalli Siddi (Dankota) Bungudu told our correspondent in an exclusive interview, that he and his people decamped to A.N.P.P due to the fact that their interest were being jeopardized.
Alhaji Lawali Siddi (Dankota) who was a one-time campaign coordinator of Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi for two terms in Bungudu, accused the council administration for non performance, emphasizing that local Government administration was meant to be a unit of development.
Alhaji Dankota called on the electorate to stop voting into power any chairman, who would come in to think of himself rather than his people.
He, therefore, called on ANPP decampees in the local government to mobilize themselves as no political party has supremacy over others, urging them to vote for ANPP in 2011.
Alhaji Lawalli said that the major problem in the state is that of leaders who were actually elected by the masses.
Effort by our correspondent to see the council’s chairman to hear his views proved abortive as he was reported to have been away to Kaduna for official duties.
