Project monitoring commissioner directs completion of road
The Kano state Commissioner of Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba has directed the contractor handling the construction of the Eastern Bye-Pass-Naira Roundabout road to strictly stick to the project programme toward its timely completion.
Alhaji Garba gave the directive while inspecting the road project linking Nassarawa and Gezawa local government areas.
The commissioner warned that failure to execute the project according to the agreed programme again would lead to the revocation of the contract.
He said that both the state government and the beneficiary communities are anxiously concerned to see to the completion of the project because of its importance.
Alhaji Garba disclosed that going by the project programme agreed by the state Ministry of Works and Housing, the deadline for its completion is July 2008.
Earlier at CTV 67, Alhaji Garba urged the management of the television station to commence the use of the newly-acquired digital-ready transmitter.
He said that people of the state are seriously desirous of receiving good signals from CTV.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary of CTV 67, Alhaji Farouk Usman informed the commissioner that the test-run of the transmitter had started from 7pm to 10pm daily on UHF 44.
Alhaji Farouk Usman expressed satisfaction over the test-run of the transmitter and requested viewers to send their feedback to the station about the clarity of the audio-visuals they receive on their TV sets.
The permanent secretary futher pointed out that the state government had approved money for the purchase of a Radio FM transmitter so that people could listen to CTV 67 programmes on 101.1 FM.
