Reconciliation: Oyo PDP chieftains lobby Ladoja
Former Governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo state has played host to PDP chieftains in the state at his 38, Bodija, Ibadan residence.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party leaders deliberated with Ladoja on crucial matters affecting the party and the state.
NAN gathered that the agenda of the meeting was how to chart a way forward for the political fortune of the party after the recent successful reconciliation of the aggrieved party stalwarts.
Most of the politicians, who had at one time or the other complained about the leadership style of a late chieftain of the party, Chief Lamidi Adedibu, were in attendance.
The closed door meeting of the politicians began at about 3.30 pm and lasted several hours.
In attendance were Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, former Deputy-National Chairman of theparty and two-time gubernatorial candidate in the state and Chief Wole Oyelese, former Minister of Special Duties during the late Gen. Sani Abacha's administration.
Other party chieftains present included Sen. Lekan Balogun; a former Commissioner for Information, Mr Bayo Lawal; former Chief of Staff to Ladoja, Chief Sharafadeen Alli and some former Commissioners and local government chairmen under Ladoja's administration.
NAN also gathered that top on the agenda of the meeting was how to achieve a lasting peace at post-Adedibu's political era in Ibadanland and the state in general.
The influx to Ladoja's home by PDP chieftains began few weeks after the demise of Adedibu, with the sitting Gov. Adebayo Alao-Akala as the firstvisitor to his former boss.
Twelve days after, many aides of Adedibu and some of his biological children, led by Sen. Kamorudeen Adedibu also visited Ladoja to beg him to forget the past in the overall interest of the party.
Senate Leader Teslim Folarin too has been in close contact with Ladoja over how to jointly chart a way forward.
