Those, whose appointments were confirmed, are Justice Atu Kalgo (SAN), the chairman; Prof. Cyprian Okonkwo (SAN), member representing the South East; Mr Roland Ewubare (South South) and Musa Magagji (North East).
The confirmation of their appointments by the Senate followed the adoption of the recommendations of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters.
Meanwhile, President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, has requested the Senate to confirm the re-appointment of Elder Bob Ozaka (Bayelsa) and Mr Lawal Funtua (Katsina) as members of the Federal Character Commission.
In a letter dated Oct. 24 and read by Senate President David Mark at yesterday’s sitting, Yar’adua, urged the upper chamber to confirm the re-

The President also sent the National Archives and Records Administration Bill of 2008 to the Senate for consideration and passage.
Yar’adua, in a letter addressed to Mark, said that the National Archives and Records should be a separate parastatal agency of the ministry of information and communications.
