Sheikh Waziri decries use of ‘knock out’
By BELLO SANI
THE habit of blowing up sound explosive popularly known as ‘knock-out’ to welcome Ramadan fasting period by youth in Kano city has been described as unIslamic, according to Sheikh Isah Waziri, a renowned Islamic scholar in the state.
The Wazirin Kano who expressed dismay over the habit described it as disappointing despite the good teachings brought by Prophet Muhammad (SAW), yet Muslim youth are emulating the habits of non-Muslims.
Sheikh Waziri said a quick measure needs to be taken to bring the situation under control. “If I were in the authority, anyone caught blowing up such things will be locked up and will not be released till after Ramadan,” he said angrily.
He cautioned Muslim Ummah to be careful in embracing alien traditions because such attitude may lead one to hell fire. “The unbelievers will never accept you as good allies unless you follow their path,” he stressed.
Sheikh Waziri called on youth to fear Allah and desist from the acts.
