SSA drags governor’s in-law to higher Shari’a Court
3From BALA ABUBAKAR, Gusau
The Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Zamfara state on education matters, Alhaji Nasiru Garba (MORE) has dragged governor’s in-law, Alhaji Tukur Muhammad Mai Bulo to higher Shari’a Court Gusau over a piece of land.
The plaintiff dragged the governor’s in-law to court claiming that he wanted to confiscate a piece of land from him .
He said the present administration directed the ministry of land to issue him the certificate of occupancy (C.O.C) of the land, but the ministry employed delay tactics which up till now he could not get it thereby floating the directives of the Governor.
The respondent, who was tesfying before the court, told the judge, Hon. Usman Hassan Gummi that the land the Senior Special Assistant claims it belongs to him is not true, since he bought it from a deceased traditional title holder, Alhaji Suleiman Sarkin Kudu Gusau.
The respondent who is a younger brother to General Aliyu Gusau, said justice will prevail since he is the owner of the land.
The SSA told the court that he had relevant document and witnesses to present to the court to qualify him as the rightful owner of the piece of land.
He also told the judge that he was detained at the police station while the case was before the court.
The presiding judge however directed the police to hands off the case since the matter was brought to court.
All efforts to speak to the police commissioner, Alhaji M.J Abubakar or the PPRO, ASP Lawal Abdullahi proved abortive as Daily Triumph gathered that the command was holding a monthly senior staff meeting at that time.
