Pillars get N30m lifeline
The management of Kano Pillars Football Club have confirmed the
receipt of a sum of N30 million from the Kano state government.
The chairman of the club, Alhaji Tukur Babangida, in a statement
signed by spokesman of the club, Shehu Adamu, said the players
have consequently been paid additional 30 per cent of their
2008/2009 sign-on fees.
The players have earlier been paid 50 per cent with a promise
that the remaining 20 per cent will be settled before the end of
June, 2009.
Kano Pillars are one of Nigeria’s two representatives in the
group phase of the CAF Champions League.
